Short summary: Give more options to arrange baskets besides the hierarchy: a basket can contain "sections", which in turn can contain "pages".
Implementation difficulty: -
Notes:

Here's a mockup showing a suggestion for the interface to the new concepts sections and pages.

What you see here:

  • baskets: there are two types of baskets (on the interface). Top baskets can be used to sort organize your informations by context (e. g., work, home, politics, ...). If you don't like this, you don't have to use it (use only one top basket). Below top baskets, there are sub-baskets which can be organized hierarchically as usual.
  • sections: a basket contains one or more sections. There should be button which allows users to create a new section with one-click. Renaming of sections by double-click on the section tab.
  • pages: a section contains one or more pages. Handling should be very similar to section handling.

That's about it.

This layout and structure gives users

  • more flexibility in organizing their content,
  • pages (former baskets) can be combined in graduated amount (i. e., two pages hang together more closely than two sections; two sections hang together more closely than two baskets, ...).
  • the ability to better separate their context of use (the user surveys have shown people use BasKet in different contexts).
